Dear Friend of Recovery,
I’m writing because we need your help to continue building our growing recovery advocacy movement. Click here for details.
There are tremendous opportunities ahead in 2006 and we want to let you know about some of our plans. We aim to make recovery a reality for even more Vermonters. We will attempt to bring recovery support services fully into the reach of those still suffering. By promoting the power of recovery from addiction, we will fight the stigma and discrimination that so often keeps people from reaching out for help when they need it.
To encourage even more people in recovery and their family members to speak out, we will be hosting several forums in 2006. The featured speakers will share their experience of being public about their addiction and their recovery. We will continue a tradition in which, each year, for the past seven years, we have held a special forum at the state house to help educate lawmakers about the value of recovery.
And we’re very excited about a campaign that we are organizing for Recovery Month 2006. We will be working with recovery community organizations, treatment providers, prevention coalitions and faith communities around Vermont to use this annual observance to engage the public in civic dialogue and action about recovery from addiction to alcohol and other drugs!
Your gift of $20 for an individual membership ($50 for an organization) will make it possible for us to continue building our growing recovery advocacy movement. Don’t hesitate. Send in your membership today. Click here for membership forms.
Yours in recovery,
Patty McCarthy
